How hard would this be? does it use any Silverlight specific features that cannot be done in WPF? can it still use hardware acceleration in WPF?

This concept should work fine in WPF4, there are no specifics in there that will stop it.

I'm not sure if you can port this to WPF.. But you have FluidKit which provides the same functionality... Its wonderful and i've had a look at it recently... You guys can definitely check that out...
